2015 Season Kick Off

While the season proper does not kick off until week two in term two, the usual preparations are well underway since term 4 in 2014 and the boys are working hard, looking focused, and disciplined.

This year, Keebra will feature two open sides, an “A” side in the Broncos’ Langer competition that flows into the GIO Cup and a second side that will contest the tier two trophy.

The 15’s will play in the Walter’s Cup with the 9’s and 8’s in the Hancock and Renouf competitions respectively.

This year, we also welcome the grade 7 cohort into high school.  They will play a gala day of football that determines the teams who progress through to the wider, Metropolitan finals.

In representative news, we are pleased to announce the continued success of our graduates, with 14 students now taking up regular positions in a plethora of NRL teams.  The latest, being Kenny Edwards at Parramatta, Kurtis Rowe, and a resurgent Agnatius Paasi at the Titans.

Nine Keebra Boys were also successful in gaining spots in the South Coast Under 18 squad, set to contest the Queensland finals in May.  Six Boys made the Under 15’s side.

Recent trials have seen the Opens take on competition from interstate, as well as locally, and the squads are beginning to take shape.  Competition is fierce as always and this has bred a real discipline and determination from the boys.

Supporters gear is always available from the school bookshop, so get behind the boys this year and help make 2015 another year to remember.
