2017 GIO campaign kicks off!

Last night Keebra Park opened its 2017 GIO National Competition campaign with a 38-6 victory over Gold Coast rivals Coombabah. In a rematch of the QLD Final from last year, Keebra opened the scoring early and never let Coombabah settle. Keebra was able to eventually pull away from a half time lead of 18-6 despite some wayward goal kicking to cement themselves in the next round.

Other results in the early stage of the GIO competition saw Marsden defeat Ipswich, Palm Beach defeat St. Mary’s and Wavell defeat Redbank Plains. Keebra will now travel to Wynnum Manly Seagulls again next week to compete against Wavell State High School.

In other age group news, Keebra have successfully reached the Grand Final in the Renouf (Under 13’s), Hancock (Under 14’s) and Langer Reserve (Open B’s) competitions.

We wish all our teams the best of luck in the Grand Finals in a few weeks time.
