The Sports Specialisation program at Keebra Park is the leading high school Rugby League Program in Australia. After capturing the GIO Cup in 2009 and 2013, our program continues to experience major team and individual success. In 2015, as many as 17 Keebra Park graduates will play in the NRL for various clubs, including Benji Marshall, Jordan Kahu, Issac Liu, and Sam Moa. Many of our past graduates have also represented their country on the international stage.
All of our graduates and current students have a serious commitment to discipline and hard work, as these are the founding principles of our program. Practice sessions, gym programs, and academic effort are taken extremely seriously within our program and we have high expectations of all of our participants to put in their absolute best effort at all times.
Students who are accepted into the Sports Specialisation program will have access to a unique opportunity to improve themselves on the field, in the gym, and in the classroom, giving them a head start over other Year 12 graduates and potential Under 20’s Rugby League players. We pride ourselves on our commitment to the students in our program- helping them to find their individual academic pathway and supporting them to achieve success. As part of the Sports Specialisation Program, all students must complete a VET Certificate 2 in Sports Coaching, which will be covered during class time. Our current students are pursuing a broad range of subjects, including accredited hands on learning and training, traineeships, and further tertiary and university level study. Additionally, our students participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities included school sponsored performances and academic competitions.
As a parent or guardian, you can expect that your student will be brought into a supportive and equal opportunity learning environment, that will allow them to develop their full potential on the field and in the classroom. For players who live outside of the Gold Coast, we do have options for boarding in a home stay. Our staff can assist you with finding a home stay and you may also be available for government assistance.
