Well hasn't time flown? It only seems like a few weeks
ago that the football season seemed an eon away and
here we are with both local and National competitions
up and running.
So far season 2006 has been a positive one for Keebra
Park with teams in the local Tuesday competition having
considerable success. The school sport 15 's side is
unbeaten and both the 13 and 14 school sport sides are
progressing well.
In the 13 and 14 A's we have had a fantastic start to
the year with both sides successfully qualifying unbeaten
into the Broncos competitions that start at the end
of the month. Both the thirteens and fourteens had "must
win games" against local school Coombabah to qualify.
The thirteens managed a 30-0 win while the 14's scored
an emphatic 54-4 victory over the "Gun" Coomababah
14's. These were pleasing results and an indication
that the development program is working well.
The Opens have come together well and with a large squad
to select had some mixed results in the trials. In the
first round proper of the Broncos competition they were
able to secure a victory over local rivals PBC and now
face Redcliffe who are not a side to be underestimated
after beating Brisbane heavyweight Wavell in their opening
round. The boys have shown a lot of maturity and were
seen many a morning in the holidays pounding the sand
down at main beach in an effort to maintain their Queensland
Champions tag.
So its been a good opening stanza and here's to wishing
all the teams well as they embark on the crucial stage
of competition.
