With the South Coast teams having been named it was pleasing to see a multitude of Keebra boys making the grade and moving on to rep football that is the first step in a long journey on the way to fulfilling their football goals.

In the fifteens age group we had Matt Staines, Ayden Hawariwa, Bronson Teepa, Richie Powell Ezra, Kayden Matahaere and Blake Andrews with Tyson Deen making the presidents XIII.

The Opens gained an even higher number of selections with ten boys performing well enough in the early part of the season to merit a spot. Congratulations to Kenny Edwards, Konelio, Kyle Bos, Bodie Clarke, Ricardo Parata, Brett Thomas, Blake Leary, Kieron Quinn, Jonny Fox and Robert Lui. Some of those names will be familiar with both Blake and Ricardo having brothers who have graduated from the program.

While Keebra has always featured prominently in representative selections, these things can never be taken for granted and it is hard work and dedication to their football that has seen these boys again prove that the sports specialisation program really is a pathway to success.

The Under 15 Championships are currently underway at Burleigh Leaguse club and Opens will be taking place over the next weekend.

Watch this space for updates and further selections.

On another positive note it is good to see three ex students named in NRL teams for this coming week. Well done Rangi Chase at the Dragons, Grehg Eastwood who continues to impress at the Broncos and Ben Teo (2005 Peter Sterling medal winner) who will make his debut at the Tigers.
