With the Keebra Park having its most successful year
in school sports for many years it was no surprise to
see tickets for the 2006 sports awards eagerly snapped
up. In fact 420 tickets were sold compared to last years
300 and this enthusiasm was well rewarded with the student
run and organised event producing a feature packed show
with speeches, stage entertainment and video footage
highlighting the year that was.
Age champions and MVP's for each team were announced
and in a special presentation, Megan Anderson (Treasurer
of the Gold Coast Junior Rugby League) presented Jimmy
Poland the Open A rugby league captain with a cheque
for $5000 dollars on behalf of the QRL for the teams
effort in this years Arrive Alive Cup.
Other awards such as Darren Harts "Teacher of the
Millennium" were well received or is that just
me being biased.
Kenny Edwards and Faith Freun delivered a heart felt
R-n-B track and were well supported by Jerry Lambden
and Halsten Quarter on guitar.
By all accounts a great time was had by all and here's
to looking forward to an even bigger and better awards
in 2007.
