| Wednesday night looks set to be
one of the biggest nights in Schoolboy football that
the Coast has seen in a while with Keebra Park set to
contest the Southern Queensland final of the Arrive
Alive Cup against local rivals Palm Beach Currumbin.
Keebra won through to the finals with a convincing
42-10 win over previous cup winners Wavell SHS, while
PBC defeated Sunnybank SHS 28-4. For Keebra there standout
performances by Stuey Byrne, Herman Retzlaff and Ben
Teo who set a solid platform for classy back Matt Parata
and Dane Macdonald to exploit. Damon Harth made valuable
yards in the middle of the field and overall it was
a great team effort that once again showed that a structured
approach to football will pay greater dividends than
one that relies on one or two elite players doing all
the work.
The winner of this game will meet the winner of the
Northern Queensland final between Ignatius College and
Kirwan High in a game to be played as a curtain raiser
to the Broncos-Roosters game at Suncorp on August 26th.
The boys would appreciate your support for what is
sure to be a terrific game of football.
