| It was a packed house at Pizzey
Park that saw the contest that was the Arrive Alive
South East Queensland final between rival local High
Schools Keebra Park and Palm Beach Currumbin. It was
always going to be a close affair with both sides boasting
International schoolboys in Matt Parata and Ben Te'o
(Keebra) and Darius Boyd (PBC) and the half time score
was a very tight 4-0 lead to Keebra through a Damon
Harth try.
The second half saw PBC equalise and then Keebra once
again take an 8-4 lead through a well worked try to
big Ben Teo. This made for a very tense last ten minutes
that saw PBC pressing the Keebra line until a mistake
handed flying Keebra winger Tim Matenga an intercept
that he took full advantage of to score and give his
teamates an unasailable 14-4 lead.
Well done boys on a terrific win and good luck as you
head to Suncorp Stadium for the Queensland final against
either Ignatius Park or Kirwan State High from North
Queensland.
This game will be a curtain raiser to the Broncos Vs
Roosters NRL game and is sure to be a big day for the
team.
