NEW ARRIVALS AND TIGERS TRIALS
Jared Blanke and Sam Webber have enrolled at Keebra
Park SHS in 2005. The boys will be moving from Corlette
in NSW to the Gold Coast later this year and were so
impressed with the Rugby League program at Keebra that
they immediately knew which school they wanted to attend.
They were also able to select the subjects they wanted
and the Sports Specialisation Rugby League subject really
suited their requirements.
The boys have been supplied with an interim training
program to work with prior to their relocation at the
end of the year.
Through Keebra's affiliation with the Wests Tigers NRL
Club, Jared and Sam were able to play in the Harold
Matthews trials conducted by the Blamian Club at Leichardt
Oval, Sydney, recently.
TRIALS
The Balmain Tigers Rugby League Football Club was totally
overwhelmed by the number of players who attended the
Open Trials on Saturday 9th October, with so many players
looking for an opportunity to play with our club.
In previos years we have averaged 65 players trialling
for each age group, this year we were well over 130
for harold Matthews and Jersey Flegg.
On top of this we had 265 players register for the S.G.
Ball trial and this quantity of players pushed our schedule
trial times back substantially.
We apologise to those parents and guardians who travelled
long distances to make the arranged times and thank
them for their co-operation. For the players that have
been chosen the "Summer training squads" will
be posted on the Website by Friday 15th of October.
For those players who missed out on selection, we wish
you all the best in your future Rugby League careers.
