It was a crossing of the codes today at Keebra Park with players and staff of the Queensland Reds Rugby Union team paying a visit to the home of the National Schoolboy Rugby league Champions.
Reds captain James Horwell was an imposing sight on the weekly whole school parade as he presented the Open Boys Rugby Union sevens side with the National sevens trophy and then gave the gathered students a talk on what a massive achievement it had been for a league school to have taken out a significant rugby union competition. Captain Moseses Fotuarka accepted the silverware and thanked the Reds for taking time out of a heavy schedule to be at the school.
Well done boys and heres looking forward to next years effort..........did somebody saw lineout drills????????
In other news it was a good start to the year for the Open boys league side as they took on and beat heavyweight side Wavell 14-10 in the first round of the Broncos competition.
In other games the 13's and 14's beat Wavell while the Gee shield side beat Wynnum. The only loss of the week was a 2 point deficit in the Under 15's against Wavell.
Well done boys and good luck next week.
