| In a thrilling encounter at Easts
Carina, the Keebra Park Under fifteens managed to dispose
of a much bigger Sunnybank opposition to progress through
to the final of the Broncos "Steve Walter"
Cup.
Although leading 20-4 at half time the Keebra boys eased
off the gas and found themselves down by 24-20 with
only minutes to go. However in a thrilling finale they
were able to keep their composure to cross in the dying
seconds to cement their spot in the final.
Coach Kurt Richards was pleased with the effort although
admitted to being a few finger nails down at full time.
"The boys did well to stick with our structure
even though they were considerably outsized. It has
shown them that working as a unit to produce a well
coordinated team effort and sticking to a disciplined
structure will always be a match for size" he said.
" We are looking forward to continuing in the footsteps
of previous Keebra fifteens sides in this competition"
he added.
Well done boys and good luck for the final.
In the previous three years the Keebra Fifteens have
finished first twice and were narrowly beaten in last
years final at Suncorp.
