This weeks Keebra Park State High
School trials at Caloundra Junior Rugby league club
on the Sunshine Coast were a roaring success with footballers
travelling from the far reaches of the state to show
their talents and possible gain entry into the schools
football program.
About 80 young players contested
a day of trial games and the display of emerging talent
was phenomenal.
Trials were held in both the fifteen and open age groups
and while there was obvious competition, the games were
played in a good spirit with hard but fair play. Kurt
Richards from Keebra Park was pleased with the turnout
and support given to this event. "It has been a
great day and there has been some great talent on show"
he said. "I'd like to thank all the boys and the
parents for their support and look forward to next years
trials. Its a privelige to get to see the outback kids
mixing it with the coastal players and to see the level
of talent that we have statewide" he added.
The school will be back in Caloundra in a fortnight
for the 14's carnival. Information will be posted here
as it becomes available.
